Looking for somewhere to eat in Edinburgh can be overwhelming as there are thousands of options to choose from. To help narrow things down, here are three restaurants you need to try:
Makars Mash Bar
A classic in Edinburgh. While walking around the city centre, you’ll likely pass by Makars Mash Bar so be sure to pop in for a bite of lunch or dinner. This is a potato lover’s heaven — they offer NINE different variations of mashed potatoes. Not only is their mash out of this world but so is every dish on the menu.
Singapore Coffee House
You may not have heard of Singapore Coffee House considering it’s so small (truly — there are only around 10-12 seats in total!) and a short walk out of town. However, I’d argue that the food and coffee they sell is up there with the best in Edinburgh. Be sure to get there early and grab one of their pastries before they are all sold out for the day.
Junk
The team behind Junk have found the perfect balance between junk food/street food and fine dining. This is a restaurant I would take to WOW somebody, or maybe even treat them for a special occasion. Their small yet considered menu is changed often so if you see a dish you like, book yourself a table ASAP!
